PopCap Games is looking for a web development lead to work with on PopCap.com. The ideal candidate will have a solid programming background as well extensive web client side experience.
Responsibilities:
· Design highly available, scalable web applications
· Architect, develop, write, test and implement clear, maintainable, portable backend PHP code
· Take a lead role in driving technology decisions on PopCap.com with an eye towards continuous improvement
· Develop extensible, modular javascript libraries
· Work with web designers using the latest front end web technologies
· Be part of a small, agile product team with short development cycles and quick iterations of web applications
· Contribute to and improve an overall modular PHP codebase used in various products and by various groups within the organization
Required Skills/Personal Requirements:
· 5+ years as software developer
· 3+ years in web development
· Strong technical and development skills
· Proficiency in PHP, including extensive use of OOP and unit testing
· Experience with 3rd party PHP frameworks and CMS systems (Zend, Joomla, Drupal, etc.)
· Deep knowledge of front end web technologies, including HTML, CSS, Javascript, and AJAX and templating engines such as Smarty, Codeigniter, etc.
· Experience with relational database design and technologies including SQL and schema design
· Experience with web services
· Familiarity with Apache and Linux
· Strong communication skills
· Experience with source control (SVN and Perforce) and website deployment software
· Track record working on customer facing consumer sites that utilize e-commerce and multilingual/ international format
Education and/or Certifications:
· BS in Computer Science and/or related field and experience preferred but not required
